Cutting out while driving.
As I figured, it broke a little more while unplugging it, that's why I didn't mess with it until I had the new one, wasn't sure if it would start leaking bad or not.
I did check the fuel pressure at idle. All I had was a 50 pound tire guage, it shot it out to the stop.
I think I'm going to drop the tank next, can only use the front tank anyway, the other is rusted with a hole. I'm pretty sure I already have 1 problem there, just about certain the vent is clogged.
It quit running entirely about 6 months ago, wasn't getting fuel. When taking the cap off it sucked air in, cranked after that and has been running fine with a loose cap until now.
So, I'll drop it and inspect everything there before moving to the next item, rebuilding the fuel bowl. Got the o-rings for that and I'm going to say it's been at least 175, 000 since that was last done.
I didn't do anything for a good while, just lived with what was going on. I finally put my old cam sensor back in almost 2 weeks ago and it hasn't missed a beat since then.
So, it seems when those things fail there's no predicting how it will. The last time I was having one failing on me the engine would shut off when coming to a stop but would immediately start again when I hit the key. Took awhile to find that one too.
The sensor I had in there was a motorcraft only about 6 months old, so I really wasn't expecting it to be that.
