Hi to all,
I am restoring a 1972 F100 4x2 that has a 360 V8 and a C6 automatic. Looking to understand what the correct carb code for this application is. The original one is missing, and I know it is supposed to be a 2100 Autolite. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
They are pretty generic. Looks like you need a 1.14 Venturi sized one for 300 cfm. Number cast in the carb body. And jetting depends on where you are at, and where it was originally purchased from. Cali, mountains, etc.
Any idea what the cab tag would read? Looking to understand what the carb tag and base plate would say for my application. Read in a few places that D2TF-?? what would be expected??
Let me know if you have access to any carb application charts or the like. Thanks
The carb would be stamped D2TF, but the tag application would be geographically based on the application needed where the truck was purchased from due to EPA and Cali CARB requirements. You can look at a carb kit instruction sheet for applicable codes. Pull a Marti Report for the purchasing dealership. Then the people at Mike's Carburetor Shop might be able to help besides purchasing a copy of the Master Parts Catalog for yourself. nYou will need it for an exact restoration which is very hard to do nowadays because a lot of stuff is not found.
Mike's Carburetor shop lists 21 different D2TF Motorcraft carburetors in this jet size list. I have a 1972 F250 with a 390 that has the late model 2100D carburetor. It has a tag on it that is D2TF-KA, the truck came from a Denver dealership. This list will only show you the list of different D2TF carbs (scan down to them) and the jet size for them. My truck also has a C6 transmission and a 2WD. As mentioned by RichS2659 it depends on where the truck was purchased due to area requirements.
According to the Marti report the truck was ordered at McNelly Whaley Motor Co. Sevierville TN. Want to get my hands on a proper core to restore. Thanks.
