Issue with automatic running board

Have had the truck for less than 24 hours after taking delivery yesterday (2024 F450). Today, we got some rain, a few heavy showers but just typical water on the road.

Got home from a MD appointment and the driver running board would not deploy. Passenger works fine but drivers side won't budge. Any suggestions on where to start looking underneath my wet, dirty, dripping chassis?

Well, after sitting for an hour, it opened up just now. Guess i need to start with any plugs in the harness to see if there is water intrusion.

Well not that you want to hear, my 2022 F150 Lariat with PRB's never didn't deploy. I live in SE Massachusetts, so crappy winter road, salt, just plan yuck.
Did you try to deploy it with the outside foot switch on the outside rear of the running board? My F150 had one, not sure if the new SD's do. I didn't/couldn't get them on this truck due to the BAP.

Didn't know there was a switch. I'll have to look for it. I'll give it a once over later tonight. It's going back for tint soon, and I'll have them look if it continues to be an issue.

It's at the rear of the running board, along the side facing edge. It's a 2-3" long black foot operated switch. It's there so you can deploy the running boards hands free. I think I used it once or twice in the 2 years I owned the truck.
They always came down since I had the key in my pocket.

Sadly there is no switch on the Super Duty’s due to the bed step. The power running boards on my 21’ F-150 and on this 24’ F-350 have occasionally not deployed on one side. Usually closing the door and locking the truck then opening the door again can fix it, sometimes you have to walk at least 20’ away. It’s a bug. You can check the running board using the screen and I think its under driver feature or setting there is a section to manually deploy the running boards. There is more than likely nothing wrong with the boards, I think it just didn’t get the signal to open.
