I frequent the super forum mostly so I’m not familiar with F150 details. I bought my son an 07 F150 and I’d like to get newer factory wheels for it. Is there any difference in backspacing or anything else that would cause later model factory wheels to not fit an older truck? I believe the bolts pattern has been consistent just not aware of any other potential issues. Thanks ahead of time!!
FWIW, older and newer wheels won't necessarily swap. My 20 F150 has 6 lug wheels so they wouldn't work for my 86 F250 with 8 lug wheels. My dad even had a spare set of 8 lug wheels off his 18 F250 that didn't fit my 86.
I think the lug studs are thicker on the new models, They're also 6 lug, not sure when they switched from 5 to 6.
Backspacing should not cause any issues.
The wheels on there now are 6 lug aftermarket with way more negative offset than we want. So that’s the reason for swapping. The tip about salvage yard is a route I’ll look into. I didn’t think of that.

That's because Ford went metric with the Superduty in 1999. Up till then bolt pattern was 8 x 6.5". Superduty is 8 x 170mm.
The later model wheels have the same bolt pattern. I believe you will need to use the 14 x 2.0 longer lug nuts though. Make sure you get them with a 60 degree base. The late model OEM wheels have a +44 offset, Raptor wheels have a +36 offset.
5 lug wheels ended with the 1997-2003/2004 heritage generation.

thanks. I figured it wouldn’t be plug and play lol. I may try to track down some 07 wheels before all that. Or maybe just go aftermarket. To be honest I don’t know what if any changes were made to the lugs already to run the wheels that are on it.

I have a 2011 F150 that I put 2019 wheels on, I then put the 2011 wheels on a 2007 so yes they will work and I believe the offset is the same, The changeover from 5 lugs to 6 lugs occurred with the 2004 model year(not the 2004 Heritage edition)

well that’s good to hear. Thanks for your input. If I find a decent set I’ll post my results.
What are you going to do with those Dick Cepek DC-1s when you remove them? Is one of them damaged? Too bad they aren't 8x6.5" to fit my Bullnose truck. I'd be all over them like a rat on a Cheeto.

I’m going to post them on FB marketplace in the hopes of recovering some of my money lol. There seems to be no damage. They’re fairly dirty though.

No, they will bolt right on, you just need the right lug nuts. Anything will look better than having those zero offset wheels sticking way out the way they are now. The lugs in the picture wont work though. Funny how there's 2 long and 4 short lugs. I wonder if there are spacers behind those wheels?

There is no spacers. I’ll have to order some new lug nuts as it seems there’s a plethora of different ones installed currently. I’m supposed to pick up these take offs this evening but won’t believe it until I have them in my truck as a few deals fell through.
