CarPlay Screen

Is there any way to get 4 iPhone icons on the left hand side on the Sync CarPlay screen?
Also, I’ve played with all the possible combinations on my iPhone and can’t seem
to have 3 default icons. Seems even if I arrange them in order on my iPhone,
2 always default to whatever.

I don’t believe there’s a way to add more icons. They are more of a recently used thing.

That said, you can rearrange the apps on the Home Screen in the settings on your iPhone.

Settings>General>Carplay>choose the name of your vehicle. From there you can arrange the apps or remove them from your home screen.

Another tip:
if you press the “home” button on the bottom left of your CarPlay screen, it will bring you to your app screen first. If you press it again, it will bring you to a dashboard.

Thanks, I'm very familiar with iPhone and the workings of Carplay, and I tried all the tricks I know, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Thanks again for you input, I value the time you took to post.
I have the same issue on my 2020 RGL screen. CarPlay only projects what's on the iPhone, so I'm thinking it's a limitation of CarPlay and not any particular radio

Yeah, the Carplay display in my 2017 Mazda is identical to my 2024 F350, and the same as what was displayed on the aftermarket Pioneer head unit in my 2018 F350.
