Vibration

Just bought a 04 Lariat has 102k previous owner stated the trucks been parked for a year and a half (Can tell it has) just wanna throw that out there.

They parked it due to snapped the trans lines after moving it they ran over a metal post from a chain link fence and pulled apart the cooler lines on the driver side and the upper rad line. Didn’t drive the truck but it did start up run and idle for a few minutes.

Replaced all the transmission lines from the transmission to the cooler / Radiator, Test drove it noticed the ABS Brake Brake and CEL lights was on cluster lights was doing a bunch of weird stuff turn signals didn’t work with the light on and radio wouldn’t work had my OBD scanner hooked up and was running freeze frame on my phone pulled out of my drive way and the wire to my obd got hot and smoked the cab. Truck ran fine shifter smooth thru all the gears (Didn’t go over 35) couple days later I found a broken ground wire rerouted it to the center of the cab under the center console and everything worked radio didn’t work due to a blown fuse.

Fast Forward a week.

First time on the highway going 65 70 the engine gets really sluggish and vibrates / shakes like crazy as if it has a clogged cat soon as you let off the throttle the shake / vibration stops I let it sit for a week and drove it again today a little further than the first time and it’s like it cleared up a bit not as much I noticed it’s only when you’re at a certain point pushing the throttle barely pushing it you get nothing especially cruising it’s fine or taking off from a red light little further it gets worse but I’d say maybe 75% and up on the throttle it kicks down a gear (smoothly not hard) and it opens up when it does this shake it’s like the engine can’t breath almost at that point it’s like a bad misfire starving itself the only code I’m getting is a o2 sensor overheated code which I cleared and it just comes right back when you start it up.

Any ideas on what could cause it? I do know I have a loose outtr tie rod on the right side would that even cause what’s going on?

I bought an 05 Roush F150 not running. Among the MANY things I replaced/addressed, one of the issues was similar to what you're describing. Plugs and coils solved that.

It just had new ones put on it actually. Plugs coils and everything to do with the timing has been done. It runs good other than that I did notice today tho I unplugged the maf sensor and it spurred out and started idling again plugged it back in and it immediately died on me. Turned the key and it fired back up like nothing happend

Just guessing but If it's running right now, it might have been some oxidation inside the MAF wire connector. If so, Deoxit could prevent it happening again.
