I have an 80 F350 2wd that I am going to convert to 4x4. I have the Dana 60a and it looks like Sky Mfg shackle Reverse kit will make the swap easier. My biggest question is-will the factory steering box/pitman arm work? If not, what box/pitman arm ? Ive search the net with little luck finding info. I know it would make more sense to buy a 4x4 truck but Iam not doing that. I have a clean 2wd and its going to be converted. I appreciate any info on this swap. If you know of article on this swap, please send/post the link.
The stock steering box will work. The sky manufacturing kit and the dana 60 may give you some lift, so you most likely will need a dropped pitman arm. And then you will need to use the steering linkage that goes with the dana 60, it is a little different. You may also want to consider a track bar with your setup.

Great info and I appreciate it. I talked to Sky MFG today, they say 2wd box with 4x4 drop pitman if Im gonna do a lift, otherwise the 2wd pitman will work. So great news there. Now, time to move forward
