Rear Suspension Issue

. I’m curious of what size the factory rear blocks would be on a 1979 f-150 ranger xlt 4wd. I’m converting the suspension to 4” butThe guy who owned the truck before me has a 6” block in the rear. The kit I bought from rough country came with 2” blocks so I’m guessing those stack on top of the factory blocks?

4x4 f150 custom short box 1977 (I think they are all the same)

Factory block measures approx 3 inch.( Top block)

Bottom is from rough country (3"lift) it's approx 2" tall

The lift kit I got went up about 4 in the front and 2 in the rear even though they called it a 3" lift

3" was stock ... somebody already switched to the 6" set.

I've seen stacked blocks using longer U-bolts lead to bad wrecks.

I’m not even sure stacking blocks is legal. We used to consider it illegal, and at least ill advised.
I also believe that a 5 1/2 inch block, as measured in the center, is the maximum allowable in every state. I could be wrong on that, because most of us were just going off of what we read in the magazines or heard from somebody else in the industry.
for best results, then, you may have to use a combination of blocks and springs, or at least add a leafs.

What is wrong with stacked blocks...I am kidding. Stacked rear blocks is not the best way to go, but it happens all the time for the rear set up. As a alternative idea what about getting the rear leaf's with the same amount of lift as the front? That is the Skyjacker difference in a lift kit or a lift system, lift system you get replacement rear leaf's with X amount of lift. Then you then only reuse the 1 OEM rear block.

Now to delete the rear block all together, check out Atlas Suspension. https://www.atlassuspension.com/Ford/F250-4x4

OMG folks. Nice square tubing shock extentions.

How about some FRONT block sketchiness.

Some peoples kids....You know this is a old picture, it Ground Hawgs on the back. 1980's tire not made for years.

Going down the rabbit hole with our hair on fire...
