that would be great, but how are you gonna go sit down with Bush ?
freedom of speech is for every one, its the reason you can call them the Dixie *****.why do you find their words so offensive, is there a chance they could be right ?
personally, I hate them. they sing like illiterate hicks. their music is not country, but neither is most of what is called country these days, its POP crap.of course the only real country I've heard comeout lately is Hank Williams III.but anyway I find the dixie chicks music wholely unredeeming.
however I find all you people up in arms over fellow citizens exercising their rights disgusting.what is this, the right to free speech only if the opinions expressed are popular.I mean come on
if you think they're wrong, impeach their arguments with logic, or are you unable?would the country be better off if we all would just blindly follow the president( or his daddy as the case may be)?
No, I do not have a problem with them sayin there opinions, I have a problem with it that they are doing so in Europe, not here at home, honestly, it is like they are to scared to actually say it to the peoples faces that they are criticizing for their actions. Secondly, I do not complain about someones work unless I think I can do a better job.
Obviously, they believe in their convictions more than they worship the dollar. They're willing to speak their minds at the risk of hurting their careers. I don't think anyone is being "shocked" by what their saying, a large part of the population probably agrees with it. For all the Americans out there, it's called the first amendment.
I don't mind them stating their opinions, yes thats their right. And if they were predominately pop/rock stars people would have shruged it off as another loudmouth celeb and moved on. THey are not pop stars, however, they are country stars (or were anyway) Its kind of a "Know Thy Audience" kind of thing. Everybody resents them (Dixie Chick is practically a dirty word) and who's the country music poster boy? Toby Keith. His new cd "Shock n' Y'all" is chock full of flag waving bandstands and selling all over the place. A bunch of country listaning rednecks (I can say cause I am one ) don't want to hear you dissing the pres/america/whatever. Especially overseas!
I personally think that they've dug thier grave. The Beatles were "Bigger than God" and the Chicks are "Ashamed he's from Texas" And they won't shut up! Keep on diggin' girls! An' order me up some eggrolls when you reach the other side!
I have yet to read what they said, but as long as they dont say anything slanderous towards the Commander-In-Chief, then they have the right, and we will continue to fight for them to do that.
I dont like it, or them, but it's still their right.
Tim, so ya know, I am that soldier that lets the protester burn the flag, and if I ever see him do it, there are going ot be some serious problems. Nothing makes me amdder than people spitting on the troops and burning our flag. And of course airing our dirty laundry.

I am that soldier too, and paid a price for it. You remember the oath you took as a soldier, do not ever lose sight of it. It is who we are and what we do. There is not much that makes me angrier then burning the flag……………..but remember your oath.
Respect it, for it is one reason,.........this great country.
...my opinion of their 'music' mirrors a great cartoon I saw a while back. A guy comes home to find his roommate smashing all his d/c cds with a hammer. 'Why are you doing this?' he asks. 'Just because of what they said about the President?' 'They said something about the President??' was the response...
Since when do we have to stop buying an entertainers CD's if they disagree with ours. I think America is becoming the Land of the Easily Offended instead of the Land of the Free.
The Dixie Chicks called Bush a name on foreign soil as did many other idiot celebs and politicians.
I despised Clinton, but his political foes NEVER went to foreign lands and badmouthed him. NEVER!
Clinton might have been a POS president, but by god, he was my president and even with him in the driver's seat, this country was better than any on this earth!
And, unlike those with such a simplistic attitude that all they can due is call Bush names, I can tell you why I despised Clinton/Gore and thank God a Republican is in power when one was needed.
