Hello so I have had this 1973 f100 and I’ve been wondering what engine it has I’ve tried looking and had no luck knowing which engine it has if anyone may please help out if highly appreciate it thank you.
Most likely a 360 FE, small chance it is a 390. But since all Fe's look alike you can pull a spark plug and measure the stroke, 352/360=3.5", 390=3.78". Use this site to decode the warranty tag. It appears in your picture that the vacuum advance isn't connected, if true the thing must not be running real great.
Hello Thank you for the reply 🙏🏼, I’ll have to check out the spark plug measurements also the truck runs well maybe I didn’t take a good picture of the engine.
Your distributor has what is called a dual vacuum canister the fitting farthest away from the distributor is the advance side the fitting closest to the distributor is the retard side. If you only have one vacuum line going to the can it should be installed on the advance side.
