About a year ago when I was pulling my travel trailer to a campsite , I had to make a harder than normal stop. Trck didnt stop on a dime with the weight in back but none the less it stopped safely.. shortly after a brake and ABS light went on for a bit and went away. It has occasionally come back and today driveing up I-5 corridor (Grapvine) light came back on with no towing load. would this be a bad ABS sensor for this truck? it is a 94 F-350 IDI. Where would the location for this senser be?
abs sensor would be in the read differential. look for sensor on top of the housing. pull it out and look for a clean surface. if it has any metal dust on it from wear in the differential, it will malfunction.
So, I went over to auto part store got the new sensor, took out the old one and replaced with new one. when I drove the truck the needle jumped back and forth at speed of around 55 and 60. Not sure why but is there something infront of it that is looking to engage but cannot?
Thanks.
Is there a good location where I could search to replace the ABS module. looks like all modules are reman.. just wondering who may have a reputable remanufactured one to replace with.
Thanks.
This is an automatic Transmission. I had this rebuilt and upgraded the torque convertr and fle plate on account of heating up too quickly going up 6% uphills.
I just finished reading up on the Psom issues 94 and before for these specific trucks.
I ordered Ford sensor since autopart store part said to be for my truck made my speed needle flutter at 65 miles an hour. I think will try that route and if problem persists then Psom module would be next to get checked.
Something did spring up when I did the FTE Search.
This place called Module Mechanics who repair these Psom's . How reliable are these guys? are there othere better locations?

are they the guys in Chattanooga Tennessee? if so they have a very good reputation.
If I could butt into this conversation... What was the ABS code? Replacing sensors without knowing the code is a waste of time and money. I hope you kept your old sensor because there's probably nothing wrong with it. Aftermarket sensors sometimes don't match well with the other OEM ford components.
10- Cylinder #1 has a problem 23-O Fuel injection pump lever sensor input is out of self test range 14-C Engine RPM sensor cuircuit fault.
14-C ignition profile pickup cicuit failure
I did keep the old sensor.. I cleaned and re-installed it and the light went away..
In regards to codes..
10- Cylinder #1 has a problem
23-O Throttle Position Sensor Signal out of Range
14-C Engine RPM sensor cuircuit fault.
how bad are the problems!!
Thanks.
Not bad. Code 10 is not a real code.
23-TPS can be easily checked and replaced if needed with a multimeter. I get that code too. I need to investigate it.
14- does your tachometer work correctly?
None of those are abs codes thou. Your abs computer is a separate box that you need to jump a wire to read. It's easier to YouTube it to find out how to do it vs reading it.

Tachometer works fine with OEM speed sensor.. I did re-geared the front and rear diffs from 4.10 to 4.56 for better up hill pull. Could that have made the code come up?
I have to look into checking the TPS sensor.
