Rear driver cv axle replacement help
ok… long story short I needed to replace my rear cv shaft. I believe in making a car the best I can while I can so since the cv was coming out I also replaced the caliper, pads, and wheel hub. As I was removing the cv shaft I decided I would also do the axle seal going into the rear diff. Well I got the old one all jacked up trying to remove it. I don’t think “getting a chisel in behind it” works or “using a pry bar” I think mine may be pressed into place? Can anyone confirm this? It appears that it might need to be replaced from the inside of the diff. I am assuming now I need to drop the differential and bring it in since half the old seal is still stuck in the differential and not reusable. Again, not sure as I have searched for two days all over the place. Picture of vehicles tag and what the new axle seal looks like and what the old beat up one looks like still in the car.
Can take more photos if needed
