i planned on replacing them because a pin was gone. after i took valve cover off to do it i seen the wires like that. i had another set of cover gaskets but they are the same kind bought from ebay. i wont be using them. where do you guys get your motorcraft ones from

Never cramazon, fleabay, general internet places, or the corner store..
Replace the harness and gasket at the same time. Save heartache from having to go back in again latter.
I agree with above. The last time I did one I was in a tight spot and bought a standard motor products gasket. Everything looked good it has worked well for the last few years. I have never used the dorman or others brands before but based on my observations, the standard motor products unit was a much better quality. I am not suggesting it over the OE gasket, but it worked in a tight spot.
