Correct ecu?
Let me start by saying my truck has had both motor and trans swapped.(was a 5.0 auto now 5.8 manual) I have the old ecu removed, but the sticker is non readable. My question is how can I assure I purchase the correct replacement ecu? Just match year, motor and trans? Thanks again.

Correct ECU won't be the one the truck was originally equipped with, mainly because of the 5.0/5.8 swap. ECU from a 5.8/manual would be the best match. Next best would be 5.8/non-OD automatic.
Better option would be an aftermarket ECU like PimpX or Holley Terminator X.
