So I've already pulled the trim using a trim puller tool.
I have a few questions
I have already bought a set of new clips all the way around 20 for the sides and top and 9 large clips for the bottom.
1. Some of the bottom clips are rotted/rusted away. But pretty much going to replace all of them. How do I remove them? They don't see like they're a simple needle nose pliers pull like the side/top ones.
2. The clip set I bought has then pins what look like golf tees. Not sure what entirely they are meant for. The set was bought off broncos graveyard.
3. Some of the clips are embedded in the windshield sealer from whenever it was last installed. Presumably I cut this away to pull them out?
4. Finally, I want to reseal the windshield. I was planning on using 3M seam sealer. Is this a good choice? Also, do I put the clips in first, them use the seam sealer and bury them? Or do I use the seam sealer first and make sure there is clearance for the clips and then install them?
Thanks so much for any support you can help with. I fixed about 95 % of my cabin leak but believe that the final leaks are coming from the windshield as the previous seal is in bad shape.
I was also thinking of sealing this gap on both sides where these rust marks are. Yay or nay? This is on the passenger side on the bottom left of the windshield. Water is getting in between that gap. Was thinking of sealing the gap between the rust. This is on the driver's side. Again only looking to seal the gap where the rust meets.
The clips, etc get placed, the butyl caulk goes down, then the windshield gets splushed on top of all that,
and pressed into the caulk to a predetermined depth.
I'm ignoring this problem on both our trucks, too.

If that's the case. Honestly, I'm not going to try removing the clips on the bottom. There are enough to hold the trim on... I have absolutely no experience with windshield removal and, frankly, don't have anyone who could even help me.
I read somewhere, if the caulk is soft, it's about 90% chance to keep the windshield but if it's hard <50%. Not worth it for a clip or two.
That being said, then I'm just going to load the caulk in the gap like nobody's business and hopefully that stops my drip drip...
