My 94 Ranger XLT short bed is stock Height and the rear end sits a couple of inches taller than the front, I am building a 302 for it and after I install it, I would like to lower the rear a little to level it out. Also I think changing the rear shocks to a slightly different rate to allow the rear end to sit down some during hard acceleration and might help in the traction department. Any thoughts on the best way to lower the rear, I haven't seen any kits in Jegs or Summit that look like they would work.
Yeah, I think rangers look pretty unique when lifted, but thats what i like, I really dont like the long bed or extended cab rangers lowered, they just look too long for some reason, but there are some sweet lookin ones out there. mines stock right now, but plannin on a 3 inch body lift, anyone know any good kits, so far theres PA, Trailmaster, and the Rough country brand, whats the best one?
I also dont see a point to lowering a 4x4, unless you get really good turning power or somthing, or if you need it because you got hung up on a speed bump...

Al - a 3" drop is easy - just a set of drop springs with matching shocks and a smaller bump pad. I did mine in my driveway in about three hours. Good luck.

it may not matter how fast you are goin on the freeway in my stock ranger i raced a 5.0 and we were swervin in outa traffic now that was freakin fun but not recamended now that i have 30's i dont ever plan on doin that again dont feel like swerving into a wall but yes the lower the truck the more fun on freeways but if u have ever been to the desert then u might have a lil trouble lowered lolwitch is safer? i think lifted is! lifted u know u must go slower so there for u know ur gonna go slower but in a lowered truck ur timpted to go fast and race SPEED=danger and hehehe adrenalin!!
lifted and slammed can both look good if done right and they can both look bad if done wrong.
i didn't like lowered at first, because it defeats the purpose of it being a truck, but i started loving them when i had a subscription to minitruckin magainze. you rarely if ever see rangers, but the time and money put into some of them is something to really appreciate.
Quote: . . but what that old guy is doing in it, I have no idea.
The old guy is setting in his own personal fountain of youth.
Thanks for the compliment, there have been some changes - the bed rails are gone and replaced by a flush hard cover.
I went to my gallery for the first time in awhile and found some comments I appreciate. Thanks again.

Dave - You can see by my post count that I have been around the forum for a while, not one time in all those posts did I ever disparage another members truck in any way. You are entitled to your opinion and I have no doubt that there are those that would agree with you. The fact is that my truck has to satisfy only one person - me.

Oh! I KNOW !!
Your are a recent graduate of the "How to completely tick off all (or most of) those around you in 5 posts or less" program - right?
(that was an attempt at humor in a very uncomfortable atmosphere - forgive me please)
Dave, please play nice in our sand box. We like you, and want you to to stay around a while longer. (The Mod won't take much misbehaving, before he starts rapping knuckles.)
