yea a bore of 4.05 bored .40 over would be 4.09.

Yes, that is a .040 over bore...the standard 360/390 bore is 4.050

do any of you know the rod journal size of a 390 and is it the same as a 360?

yes all FE motors shared the same rod and main bearing dimensions
