Lots of unknowns, so Scan for trouble code clues & post All code Numbers as they can help focus a trouble-shoot. If you don't know how, or don't have a code reader, or scan-tool, or don't know someone with one, most auto parts stores will do it at no charge if the CEL = Check Engine Light is on steady. Some won't scan unless it is lit.
It's possible the problem hasn't happened often, or long enough for the ECM to have been aggravated enough to turn the CEL on yet but Pending codes that haven't matured enough to turn the CEL on can still be stored in the ECM & are helpful to know, so go with a store that'll scan & give you All code numbers even without the CEL being lit, if you have to go that way.
A bunch of beginning thoughts for consideration, let us know what you find.
Open loop is one set of parameters the vehicle runs off of for start up. Referencing a set of commands. Closed loop is when the system is referencing a set of inputs from all of the sensors. Open loop also occurs when a sensor fault occurs.
Noises coming from exhaust running rough and idling high even after slowing down or stopping
Yea, this invokes A LOT of questions so here are a couple.
When you say "noise from the exhaust":
Is it the back of the truck, middle, front?
Is the noise inside the exhaust or outside?
The running rough or high idle might be related & it might not. As pawpaw said, start with any codes in the system.
As for the exhaust noise, the most common issues come from lose heat shields on the converter(s) or heat shields under the body/bed.
