So… still working on that dang axle shaft. When it fell out due to bearing issues the backing plate it dragged on the asphalt for about 50 feet. Ive had no luck finding any replacement backing plates. Realistically what would the issues be with this drum/backing plate fitment seen in the picture (the angle is from the back of the backing plate, the gap can be seen at about 3 o’clock) I am under the assumption that the wheel assembly and shaft is held in place by the bearings, so how would this gap affect braking performance?
