New FL guy

New to the forum, been lurking for years, but getting more active chipping away at small projects on the truck. Which is a 2001 F350 4x4Lariat crew cab dually, with 7.3 and 4r100. Truck is a little sentimental to me, my father bought it brand new and has since passed away, knowing how much I love the truck, my mother handed it to me. And I hopefully will one day hand it off to my boys. Live in the central Florida/Orlando area.
so far I’ve updated to the 05 style harley headlights. Updated to the newer 08 to 16 tail lights along with the 08 to 16 mirrors. Power function work but still have to wire in the heat and turn signals.
Back in 2020 went through the front axle and replaced seals, u- joints, bearings all that fun stuff with the exception of the differential bearings themselves.
Motor is all stock for the time being. It had a super chips program on it for years which I’m pretty sure is what took out the transmission. I have since installed a Diesel Site 4R100 built transmission. Since I plan on adding a moderate amount of power to it, and eventually Towing a fifth wheel camper. Truck has been all across the country as my father was a union electrician and traveled all over the country for work. But he definitely wasn’t the type for many upgrades, so truck definitely needs some TLC so as a funds allow trying to make her better than ever.

Welcome.

Great looking truck. I had a 2020 F350 with the 7.3. I loved that truck. I didn’t do many upgrades but sure loved it.

They are definitely great trucks and motors, very outdated by today’s standards, but absolutely love no emissions or DEF to deal with. And I tend to the enjoy the loud cackle of the engine. Chomping at the bit to add a MBRP 4” exhaust with muffler, love the sound of the motors with a better exhaust system.

Looks like a nice truck! I've got basically the same truck, except different color and 1999 model year. No modifications, runs great.

Welcome aboard!
