Hello, not sure if I have an issue or not on my 1994 F250 7.5L ECM. Does it look like damage or leaking from the light blue capacitor on the right side (brown spot). I have run KOEO and KOER and have gotten the system pass 111.
Just couldn't tell, cause it looks like brown goop . I just replaced the ecm with a reman off Rockauto and ordered a capacitor kit from blenddoor to have this one as a spare. Truck runs night and day different and no more gas smell in exhaust. Just chasing a drop from 10.5+ mpg to 5.5.
That's what I kind of figured and had the new ecm handy. Not the hardest to get to, but not easy either. Figured if I was taking it out yo check, have a new one yo go in and repair the original. Thank you again.
This dont look good, could have been replaced, some time before, I would look at other side of board, also check for spots.

At very least I would wash that area with some alcohol and a q tip before reassembling and installing. That electrolytic fluid can corrode and eat up the neighboring resistors etc.
If there has been a previous repair you can often see the protective film on the back has been adulterated in the area of the repair.

Thank you for the tip. Just did what you suggested with the qtip and alcohol. Couldn't notice a smell but the qtips were dirty. Looks like some discoloration uder the capacitor and the horizontal (resistor) not sure if correct name next to it.
