2.9 replacement

I have a 88 B2 Eddie Bauer automatic that I am considering swapping for a 302. Any suggestions on how to do it or what 302 t0 use? Are there any parts on my 2,9 that would be used on the 302 ? Can I use my 2.9 dash? Is there a step by step manual available on how do do it, After all is said and done is it worth it or just replace with another 2,9 ?

I have not looked but I’m sure there are lots of swap threads. I would get a late ‘88 or newer 302 block so you can use a roller camshaft.

Like what? The Cologne (Germany) 2.9L and 302 have nothing in common. They are completely different.

I don’t understand the question about using the 2.9 dash. What does the dashboard have to do with replacing the engine?

I had the engine in my ‘89 rebuilt a couple years ago. That would be the easier way to go. It has enough power for daily driving. Are you using the truck for something other than as a commuter?
