Heater Hoses

On my '92 4.0, which heater hose goes to the block and which goes to the intake manifold?

The only thing you change is the flow through the heater core. I'm sure someone will answer but you'll be OK with it connected either way.

You do mean heater and not radiator hose.

Yes, the 2 hoses running from the left side of the firewall to the engine block and intake manifold.

You'll be OK and you can always switch them at the core without losing much coolant when someone with a 4.0 stops by.

On my 92 4.0 the hose closest to the blower motor goes to the water pump.

Ken are you sure it doesent make a difference? I would think the hose that goes to the bottom of the heater core should be the inlet to force the water upwards to keep the water in the heater core longer to transfer heat from the water to the core, providing hotter air, as opposed to the water running down through thre core and escaping faster. I don't think any damage would occur reversing them, unless the reverse flow started to remove scale deposits, But I would think efficiency wise it would make a difference. Not sure only questioning the facts to satisfy my couriosity.

The water is under pressure from the pump so I don't think that would matter. Also some cores lay flat.
