I've never come across this Gooseneck conversion kit. It looks interesting for anyone that just loves their TT and has $6k to convert it from a ball hitch to gooseneck. Anyone ever see one in the wild ? https://folkmaninc.com/gooseneck-adapter-hitch/
That setup doesn't change the way the weight is distributed between the tongue/gooseneck and the trailer axles. So the front could still be light and end up with sway?
I was thinking about that but would of thought more of the weight would of been put on axle instead of towards the rear bumper. I did notice it limits the trailer to 10k# which seems lite to me anyways.
I suppose that the extended length of the gooseneck is going to act like a lever and increase the amount of weight put on the gooseneck ball. Maybe that longer length would also go towards reducing the chance of sway.
10k limit wouldn't work for my toy hauler since it has a GVWR of 11k.
The gooseneck hitch seems like an innovative and well make conversion. Maybe for someone that doesn’t want the outside height and inside steps of a 5th wheel, but the tow ability of 1 ??
When you only have a 2.5inch receiver and need to pull north of 20K across the mountains the other one can be useful.
The gooseneck conversion hitch shown in the first post here is only rated for 10K, so I’m not sure what you are talking about? Both are very expensive “work around” options.
And I’m so fortunate to have the room at home to store the TT, so much more convenient to tackle little jobs with it parked in the driveway.
