I’m personally a fan of these from DieselSite ( link below). I’ve tried a few sets of Amazon cheapies with mixed ( usually poor) results. But so far the DieselSite bulbs have been good in both my Excursion and my f250.
I have been happy with the bulbs in both our trucks for several years now. You'll want to get Beamtech or equal bulbs that mimic the halogen bulb wires which provide light when energized. You'll see two horizontal led pods on each side...one for high beams and one for low beams. Stay away from the units that have the internal fans. The key is to get the correct color hue for the brightest/whitest light...which is 6,000 Kelvan. These below are what I was looking at when I was lookin back then. They made a huge difference...probably one of the best mods I've done in all the years...

Looks like the factory retaining/locking ring will fit on there unlike many others!
Thanks
No, it’s been at least a year since I put them in the Excursion ( and two years since putting them in the F250), any packaging or paperwork that came with them that’d have that information is long gone.
The bulbs themselves are still working good and are as bright as ever in both vehicles though.

So these use the factory locking retainer rings?
I need to get better LED's for my mirrors also but I feel like it's time to upgrade to power folding towing mirrors if I can find a pair!

I would assume so. I installed them with the locking rings that came off the truck. But it is a 2005 model that I didn’t buy until like 2020, so God knows if they were the “ factory “ lock rings. The bulbs I took out were basic parts store halogens.
This threaded reminded me that I needed to get another set for my younger sons car ( got him a retire police crown vic for his first car) it uses the same headlight bulbs, so I ordered up a third set of them now.

Because this thread reminded me to buy new bulbs for the kids car, here is a comparison between one factory 9007 bulb and one of the bulbs from DieselSite. I'd bet you can guess which is which.
And you'll probably read around the internet and hear people talk about how bad it is to put LED bulbs in halogen housings (actually kinda surprised one hasn't popped up in this thread yet). Most of those people have no idea what they're talking about and are just repeating stuff they read elsewhere.
In the case of most factory Ford headlight housings (at least every single one I've ever had), the headlight bulb itself is capped inside the housing (see pic below, it's from the police crown vic headlight but the excursion is the same in this regard). So any and all light emitted is bounced back onto the reflector before it leaves the assembly. With housings that have this feature feel free to run what the heck ever bulb you freaking what, it'll be fine as far as light pattern goes.
Now there are housing out there (especially cheap chinese knockoff housings) that don't have this bulb cap at all, those suck regardless of what bulb you put in them, but they do suck worse with LED compared to halogens.
I am in agreement with with Antonm23 and have an example of the reflector cap. Both our 2000 trucks have the later 03-05 and 05-07 clear headlight lenses which have the reflector caps, that also have LED bulbs. I also added oem style fog lights to both trucks. Because of the way they mount to the bumper, I was stuck with the earlier 02-04 model style. Unlike the 05-07 style, they have a hole in the center of the reflector cap, so the bulb has LED pods on the front tip and sides. I do think the reflector has longer skirts on the sides which doesn't help things. These lights are useless and I will either figure out how I can get into them, or remove them entirely.

Installed the Dieselsite bulbs today.
To use the factory locking rings, you twist counter clockwise on the bulb retainer ring on the Dieselsite assembly, slide the locking ring back into the assembly, then put the retainer ring back on.
QD cleaner'd the factory female pin receiver plug, popped the bulbs in, locked them down, and they work great.
