Would it fit?

I have the chance to purchace a Bronco II and was curious about someting. Would a 300 Inline six fit? This will be strictly a toy and I want something small that I can run thru the back 40. So to all the experts, would a straight six fit and how much of a pain would it be? Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge.

Do you have an L6 you can measure? I have an L6 in my f150, it's pretty long and tall. I'm sure you could get it in height wise with some suspension mods, but i dont know that it would fit lengthwise? I'm curious now, I'll go home and measure it for you

This is a NON-expert opinion

Something else to think about too, I have a 300 I-6 in a full size Bronco and until I started upgrading my running gear I was always busting something. Busted U-Joints, stripped splines, I've got a mean set of spider gears it spit out the back of my old 8.8's diff. cover, mangled em... I know from the B2 that the wife has that with the torque that 300 produces you'll tear the front end out of that thing in no time. It just has that cast aluminum housing that the hub is built into that drives the front rotor and wheel, that's a really weak link. And those tiny u-joints in the front drive line with no grease zerts... get really good at changing those too. Looking at them side by side it looks like it would fit, and my 300 runs fine off a single core radiator so you could probably find one for the B2 that would fit and still cool the engine. I bet you could get it in there, and probably a small auto tranny like a C-4 or something. Check out advance adapters web site, last time I was there they had some kits for a 302/C-4 B2 swap in there, you could probably use the tranny mounts and stuff. They say the best upgrade for the mid 80 B2's is the 4 liter. I have one in an explorer and I have to say that is one hell of an engine. Plenty of power, and it can really take some abuse. I put probably 800 miles a week on it, change the oil every 8-10 thousand if I remember, never gets washed... and gets a second gear scratch every time I think the cops aren't looking. I've got 220,000 miles on it and all I've changed on the motor is the manifold gasket, sprung a water leak there not too long ago. If you can find one and get everthing you need to make the fuel injection and all work it would be a good swap.

This is a non-expert opinion also.
