HELP!!!!!!!!
I have a mostly low speed noise(imagine a tire with a flat spot) that speeds up with truck speed mostly from take off to about 35-40 mph.The sound is more like a growl, not constant but one noise with every revolution of the tire. Jacking the front end up and spinning the wheels shows nothing except the slight rotor drag. Recently I`ve been noticing a resulting vibration at higher speeds. Any ideas friends?
Run your palm, flat along the inside and outside of the tire and see if you can feel "cupping." It'll feel like small waves in your tires. What you're describing sounds just like cupping and it's due to a poor suspension or your frong end is out of alignment. Also, there's nothing you can do about correcting the tire condition besides replacing the tire.....
I have the same problem with my 03. First we noticed the grinding noise when turning. Now we are getting a nice shuddering noise until we reach about 40mph. We only have 8k on the truck as of today. Dealer said they would look at it when i take it in to have the passenger seat subframe replaced to stop the creaking sound.
