Gen1 Lightning lower intake info needed

Looking at a manifold that’s for sale. Anyone have the correct casting or part number for the lower intake manifold? The one for sale casting number is:RF F2JE 8(or possibly 9)K461BA. Would this be a Lightning lower? Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure they are all the same.

There were the ones that were OE on the trucks & there was those that were sold through Ford Racing.

I think there are some iron marine versions (God knows why)

Either way they are ridiculous money.

I do not have casting numbers. The folks at NLOC could maybe help you. I could get you the L part number if you want it.

Are you concerned it is a counterfeit part or what? 5.8 GT40 intakes only came from a handful of sources and as far as I know there is no functional difference between them.

Just wanted to make sure the one I’m looking at is for the 5.8 and not the 5.0. In the pictures in has the staggered round ports and the blue oval Ford casting on the t-stat port.

The 5.8 is wider. Usually apparent with a picture. You can ask for dimensions if in doubt.

I've got some 5.0 GT40 lowers around I could shoot a pic of what it's NOT if you need.

Width alone should give it away if pics are what you're getting are true.

NLOC is still active? Every time I try to visit the forum it doesn’t load.
Disregard

The 5.8 Lightning/GT40 distributor clearance bend (?) is less pronounced than the 5.0. Would that be an accurate description of the difference between the two. I measured the width of a stock 5.8 lower I have and it’s about 10 7/8”. I’ll be measuring it when I check it out tomorrow.

There is a huge visual difference between a 5.0 vs 5.8.

I've been looking for one for a while, I lost out one and the winning price was about $700. EBay has plenty over $1000 [lower only].

With the cost for just the lower, you are better off scoring a TFS 5.0 upper and buying the 5.8 lower you need or Edelbrock if you want the single side TB.

Before I did the hybrid 5.8/5.0 thing I considered the Explorer lower & Price Mototrsports adaptors.

https://www.pricemotorsport.com/html...e_adapter.html

Std EFI 5.0 lower seems to be average of 9 inches, bye the bye.

Simply because of the cost of the gt40 parts I would look at edelbrock used or new. Depending on what you are doing the stock manifold may work just fine.

Well folks, this was all for naught. In typical Facebook Marketplace, and even more with Craigslist, the seller sold it to someone else. Even after telling him I would take it, if it checks out, and even setting up a meeting time. Heck he even gave me his address. He informed me an hour later that he sold it to someone else. He had it listed for $200 and when we messaged each other, he said that he would let me have it for $150. Too good to be true?
Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the replies.
