By now I shouldn't have to tell everyone to check my web site for updates. You all do that on a regular basis, right? I got my steering gear box apart and started reinstalling my rear springs. My steering gear box will probably need a worm gear. The steering was tight so I was hopig for the best. At least the sector roller is good. The swing hangers I ordered from F-100 Connection ended up being drop-shipped from Dennis Carpenter. I think a high percentage of the dealers out there must do that. They are manufactured to the correct specs though they were a little wide which required some filing to get them to swing freely. Still working on the new bushings.
I've really been trying my wife's patience lately with all the stuff I've ordered trying to get ready for the suspension and engine rebuilds. It adds up fast. Yikes!
Nice to see you FFF!
I too have been away from the board for way too long. bIve been sooooo busy, and since the IFS tear down, and my inability to weld professionally, I have been at the mercy of my buddy thats a weld master. Hes a lagger, so my 55 sits. And sits. And sits.
It really hurts! Hopefilly this week, we can get back into the swing of things.
Funny, I don't remember any rear springs in my steering gearbox - maybe I missed something????

Always good to make some kind of progress. Thanks for sharing - and about the wife thing, I completely understand - I don't think my wife knows or wants to know what I've spent on the old truck. I keep in mind that some guys have expensive habits with nothing to show for it in the long run. Keep at it long enough and you'll be driving your habit.
