Brand new to the forum. So I have a 24 F250 that sits a lot. I noticed early on that after it sat for a week, the welcome lighting feature and interior lights did not come on when approaching the truck with the key. So just poking around google, I noticed this mentioned and many were saying a battery maintenance system would shut off certain features after a period of time. I have since installed a Deltran battery maintainer, not specifically for this reason, but I have another car that sits for extended periods and I have one on that car and they work so well. After starting the truck, those features work fine ...for at least that day as I have not driven it on consecutive days and actually, it only gets used once every week or two currently. So after driving it and parking on Saturday and hooking up the maintainer...I approached the truck last evening with the key and same thing...no welcome lighting. Wondering if anyone has come up with a verified reason for this.
Do you have one or two batteries? What’s the size of the maintainer? I’ve always heard the charger needs to be 10-20% of the Ah rating of the battery. Could be an issue of your maintainer is undersized.
1 battery...7.3 gasser. I have the 1.25 A charger / maintainer. It's the same 1.25 I have had on my other car since 2017 and it works great, so I just opted for that one. When I first installed, I checked it after 2 days ( the charger ) and it showed green...fully charged
My truck when new was similar, only used once a week at most, battery showed weakness signs and warnings in first winter. I replaced OEM battery with Odyssey Extreme and never a problem symptom again four winters now.
my usage is like yours...maybe once a week but more like once every 2 weeks. not sure how the difference in model years between your truck and mine applies or doesn't apply your case vs. mine. I just find it hard to believe it is a feature built in that would delete certain features once the battery reaches some threshold when I have a maintainer plugged in.

I would think that Ford has it set to react based on actual battery voltage, but there is also a chance that the system also just counts days without starting, then shuts down features after X number of days regardless of battery voltage.

sure ...never thought about that. I've just seen numerous inquiries online but nothing concrete verified. surely I can't be the only 23+ with this circumstance. it is helpful if I just need to go out after dark to get something etc so it only bothers me to a point. And as I mentioned before, I have a maintainer on it not for this reason, but I think I can rule out a voltage related threshold so you may be totally correct about a counter for instance. I just know from this past Saturday to Wednesday, 4 days, and it's dark.

That does seem like it's shutting down too quickly. If it was based on days, I would expect more like 1-2 weeks, not just a few days.
There was a similar issue with some of the previous gen, owners getting the deep sleep alert within a day or so of driving and healthy battery voltage. I believe Ford might have fixed that with a software update.

prior to "installing" the maintainer, first month of ownership let's say, sitting for 1 to 2 weeks, I did notice that the welcome lights did not come on and that's what prompted me to search online..but I didn't get any alert. Would that alert be tied to the Ford Pass App ...???
My 23 with the same engine and single battery does the same thing. The battery shows 12.3 volts after sitting for two or more days. Obviously something is pulling down the voltage as it sits then goes into preservation mode or something. Could be garbage Ford batteries not sure. Has done it since new and has no issues starting after sitting but clearly and draw on the battery when parked.

Difference here is that the OP's battery is on a maintainer, so it should be at a satisfactory voltage level.

yours does the same thing as in the welcome lighting and interior lights are inop...???
only other thing I can add is that I have noticed that I have my center screen set to gauges with coolant temp etc and the last reading is voltage spec and it's only ever read exactly 14.0 whenever I have looked at it...never has read anything other than that. All the other readouts ( temps ) all fluctuate according to load etc. ...and 14.0 is fine of course but it should vary between let's say between 14.0 and 14.4. I only have 300 miles on it so not much driving time but I have picked up on that...always exactly 14.0. I realize this has nothing to do with my initial inquiry but wanted to mention nonetheless

Correct, welcome and interior lights inoperable after about 24hrs. Interior lights won’t come on until truck starts. My voltage also always reads exactly 14 regardless of what is on or off which is hard to believe as accurate.
My 23 does the same thing. I feel like it goes about a week before the interior/exterior lights stay off when I unlock/open the door. I just chalked it up to the BMS cutting them off to preserve battery life if it’s been past a certain time period. I’ll have to check the voltage the next time it happens.
