Has anyone ever removed that ugly front valance or air scoop or whatever you kids are calling it. The huge black thing that hangs down incredibly close to the ground below the bumper.
just curious. Thanks and what are your thoughts.

some people have replaced it with the two-wheel drive version which is a little shorter and others have simply removed it, cut it down, reinstalled it
On my last 2, I run a jig saw along the bumper , using it as a guide to cut the air damn. Leaves about 1" or so remaining. I think it looks great and costs nothing.
Lots of folks replace with the Tremor version. Makes no sense to me pay for a new part that takes longer to install than trimming the one you already have and that, once it's cut, no one really notices anyway.
I trimmed mine with an oscillating saw and it looks factory. The guy who installed my plow frame notched it with a razor knife heated with a torch. That also looks fine.
Heck, I took my 2WD one off my truck and put a 4x4 one on!
I like the way it looks, plus figure it might be helping the fuel economy, keeping more air flowing around the truck instead of under it.
You really don't want to take it off completely, it is designed to enhance airflow, and it also covers some ugliness under the bumper.
It's a mixed bag, frankly. Yes it's big and ugly, but it does a pretty good job of smoothing out the airflow under the truck and reducing drag, thereby increasing fuel mileage. How much it helps varies depending on how you drive, the weather, etc. etc.
I definitely wouldn't completely remove it - depending on the vehicle I've removed one from, it can decrease mileage by up to 2mpg (not a concern for everyone, but for the vehicle I did that to it was a problem for me). As long as there's something left after changing/trimming, it will do what it is supposed to and mileage drops will be very little. My FIL put the 2WD one on his, which is approximately the same size as the Tremor one, and didn't really notice any change in mileage. It does look better though.
Yes it's big, yes it's ugly. Your options are to remove it (not recommended as you see exposed wiring etc.), cut it down (viable option, but I don't think it looks as good), replace with a Tremor unit, replace with a 2wd unit. I went with the 2wd one and I still have the 4wd one in case I want to re-install for a long cross country trip or something where the extra 0.5mpg may matter.

Small correction; the Tremor one is significantly smaller than the 2wd one - which is more in-between the Tremor and 4wd valance.
Deleted mine on my 23 the day it came home and haven't looked back.
While I was stock height on 35s with no valence I got 21 mpg @ 70 on the interstate
Now that Im leveled on 37s I get 18 mpg @ 70 on the interstate
Leveled on 35s with no valence
I paid extra for mine, it's part of the snow plow package isn't it?
Every plow (50 or so) I have never installed. I've never put the balance back up.
The part of the bumper that turns back downwards towards the ground, I just applied black undercoating and it blends it right in. You don't see the chrome.
I removed mine for a four wheeling trip and never put it back on. Didn't notice a difference in mpg but I tend to stay at 70mph or under. Seems like as speed goes up it might affect mpg more.
I hated how it looked and since getting the same mileage no reason to put it back on. Like someone else said, a little black paint on the chrome that showed made it look more finished.
I got tired of how the 8” one looked and used some of my Ford Pass Points and got the Tremor valance. Looks much better. The pics in my signature still show original valance.
I cut the one on my 2018. For my 2024, I think I am going to install the 2WD valence. I'm not sure I can cut the stock one how I want and have it look good with the way it curves out in the middle.
