Instrument cluster misreading

at the moment I don't have batteries (died), but I note that few days ago fuel gauge was reading less then today. I am preaty sure that there is not that much fuel, but as I remember when I run it before, it was show different readings all the time. I am more concern about T gauge and oil T too...

Those magnetic gauges act like that
They stay where they were last pointing when the power is interrupted
If you ever have to replace one and have to remove the needle, it can get tricky to get them pointing back where they should
