Did the usual searching and found little or no info on this topic.
Who knows of a good source for seat covers/seat cover kits for a 1952 F2 original bench seat? The old seat cover and padding are getting quite worn and I feel like I'm leaning toward the door while driving.
Thanks for any info!
I got seat covers from the same place that LMC Truck sources them from. I did my F2 first with them, and was happy with it so did the same for the F3 with them.
They are good quality and reasonable to fit on with average skills, hog ring pliers, a bag of hog rings, and a stout needle with upholstery thread to tidy up the corners if needed.
I got my foam and padding from my local sewing & fabric store - it was inexpensive. https://www.lmctruck.com/interior/seats
Oh, another thing.......I did my seats indoors during the winter. I warmed up the fabric next to the wood pellet stove to get it flexible and loose- almost to the point of it being too hot to touch. After tying it in place with the rings I let it cool outside and the fabric tightened up and looked great.
So I recommend warming up the fabric.

And like Columbo says..."Ah just one more thing sir".....
Do not attempt to put too much padding in the seat or seat back. I thought it would be great and more comfortable, but what happens is that the seat back will push you forward into the steering wheel and there already is not enough space there. So go easy on the padding thickness. Look at what you pull out, and then add about 25% thickness to account for 70 years of settling and compression.

I bought the style that was half vinyl and half tweed. It looked great, was comfortable and held up. I also bought a bench seat shorty console for trucks from E-Bay. It was spendy but matched great and was real handy. The console just rests on the seat and is held in place with an adjustable strap if desired.
I see that LMC doesn't have the vinyl/tweed option anymore unless I missed it. But the company that provides (or used to anyway) upholstery to LMC is called Seatz. This is who made my seat covers that I was happy with.
You can see the tweed options here...

So it is removable in case your best girlfriend wants to sit next to you....
I am unfortunately not home to provide you with the company name. There is a auto upholstery company based in Massachuesetts. that I used that provides accurate covers in fit and material used and color match. A little research on the internet you should be able to locate them.

I'll second this. I used 2" Lux HQ foam for my seat padding, and I've now become a close friend to the steering wheel. If I were to do it over, I'd go down to 1.5" or even 1".
Thanks everyone for your replies. This seems like a good winter project while my truck is off the road. All of this info should increase my odds of success.
Standard Cab seats in 53-56 had no foam. Deluxe and Custom Cab seats did. I assume it was the same in 48-52 seats. Standard Cab seats used cotton batting and burlap. Even I used foam when I rebuilt the seat in my Standard Cab 54 F100.

Yes, especially if she is "two axe handles across".
I couldn't easily use the console if I had a passenger, so I'd put it in the toolbox in the bed temporarily. It's not that the console was huge, but rather the seats are quite narrow.

You may be thinking of Lebaron Bonney, Hemmings Motor News announced they went out of business a few years ago.
I was in Mohave Air Station where they store Airplanes. Getting a DC 8
-71 converted freighter. The hotel owner loaned his 63 Chevy Pickup so I could go back and fourth from the hotel. The seat a bench was pretty ratty. And had a hole where you sat to drive. Very uncomfortable. The local auto parts house sold Indian Blanket seat covers. Fit like a glove packed foam in the hole. You couldn’t even tell how bad the original seat was. In hot desert heat the seat cover was very comfortable. I was their in May. And June 91. If you can find them the design is beautiful.AJ
