Question for those of you that use your super duty’s for work. Does any of the spray in bed liners hold up to heavy pallets of material being loaded and slid on the bed liner material. Quite often we haul pallets of porcelain tile, thin set, etc. Or will we be better off with the plastic one piece liner?
TIA
My Line-X was $5 more than the Ford spray-in liner and 10x more durable. The Ford was soft and they do no prep at the factory just apply it to clean paint. I would definitely go aftermarket if you want something to stand up to pallets being loaded and unloaded on it.
Line-X here, and it's got pallets with engines/transmission, undercarriage, hydraulic pumps etc going in and out of it.. Holds up great.
Never used a piece of plywood etc. Spray and go to work.
I have had both, and I love how the spray in looks, but I have gone back to a plastic ribbed liner. It turns out that it provides much more protection than gooey spray paint.
If loading pallets is a common occurrence, I would lay a thin piece of plywood down in the bed and leave it there. Doesn't matter what liner you go with then.
I have a Line-X with a rubber bed mat on top of it. Loading with a forklift, you'll have to slide the pallet, and the rubber bed mat just bunches up...but it does protect the Line-X from the nails and crap on the bottom of the pallets.
A plastic liner can also bunch up and ruin it if sliding heavy pallets on it. I've had it happen on a past truck. Ripped the screws out of the back and folded the liner right between the wheelwells. The fold never came out of it...

I've had Ford Spray in with my last 2 trucks, no issues what so ever!!
I haul the exact same materials just in a box van. It’s a reading utility box mounted on an E350 cutaway. Anyway the box came with a painted diamond plate floor. I put a sheet of Masonite down and it’s held up for two years. I would be concerned if it flying out if there were nothing to hold it down in a truck. But as far as durability it’s been outstanding. If I were you and if you have to haul demo or scrap pieces I’d get the spray in liner and the plastic liner. The plastic liner will protect the bed sides. Cut porcelain tile is fairly sharp and will easily gouge the bed sides if only a spray in liner. Happy tiling.
