Info overload

Got a few things from eBay the other day.
The "body builders" book is just insane. Practically every dimension imaginable for every truck Ford built in '78. I have a couple other books I'm looking at getting, plus the shop manuals. Unfortunately, knowledge can get pricey pretty quickly.

Not included in the picture is the color chip card. One of the original ones like a dealership would have had on display. There's also a brochure which hasn't arrived yet that is all about "farm & ranch" options/packages.

Aside from the obvious desire to get technical information, I'm also wanting to gather ideas for what I might have ordered if they had let 9-year olds buy trucks back then.

Yes great minds DO work alike. I just do not know how to make it the "here" and "here". He used to have 66-77 Bronco info on there. I downloaded, before it went away.

For "here" as a link you highlight the word or words you want for link first then hit the "paper clip" looking deal in the tool bar. Now cut and paste your proposed link in the box that comes up and click. Done !

That's the exact paint card I got. Didn't get the one for the commercial vehicles though.
Most of the others you linked are on my watchlist, or at least in my mental notebook for future purchase.
The farm & ranch one I bought is specifically for '78. Seems I could have gotten a repop for about the same price. Oh, well. I like having old stuff. That's why I bought an original owner's manual instead of repop.

And I know I could get all, or most, of this as a pdf or whatever for free. And I might. But, despite having a handful of IT certs and a pretty solid background in the PC hobby, I hate reading stuff on a computer. I want books I can thumb through.

This is one of my favorites, it has all the option prices. I have the 1978 issue also, but have the pic of 1979 on my computer. It is a Ford issued manual.

Oh, yeah. I've burrowed my way into that thread. Don't have it all memorized yet.

Now that is fun.

One of the books I'm watching is the catalog of "recreational" vehicle suppliers. Basically a list of defunct companies that built semi-custom F-series variants. I want it for the pictures. Tons of ideas. TurtleTop even built an F-series "Li'l Red Express". Mmmmmmm... exhaust stacks. Forget what it was called.

Just got the "farm & ranch" brochure. Very underwhelming. Seems 4wd and CB radios are "farm & ranch" items. Other than that, it is more or less the same as the regular truck brochure. They just show more pictures of cows.

Also got the "Performance Specifications" booklet. That's going to take some deciphering. Tons of info I'll never need, like the throttle bore size of all the carbs available that year.

Dodge did the 2wd Little Red Express with the step side bed and stacks. Did not know any one did that to a Ford truck. The 3 Ebay links I posted earlier, ended up being the coolest I have found so far. I do have a 1977 Ford truck wiring schematic catalog that is way cool also.
