Does anyone know who actually makes the fuel filters for the 2011-2016 trucks? I know racor made the ones in the 6.0 and 6.4. Just curious as to who actually makes them vs just motorcraft parts.
I once considered buying the Donaldson filter set but found out they do not have the water separation media like in the Motorcraft primary filter. I hear the Motorcraft secondary has a valve or feature to assist in purging the air when going through priming cycles.
I can absolutely tell the difference in the Motorcraft fuel filters vs the junk at my oil change station. With the Motorcraft fd4615 filter kit my pump is way quieter.
That being said. Why are the Mc filters on eBay so much cheaper than the other online stores? eBay sells the set for $20 +- everyone else it’s like $90 to $115.

Because they are from China... counterfeit...
If you go to this post from a past thread and scroll down from there, I posted a ton of pics of a set I bought from Amazon that I believe were counterfeit and I compared them to a legit FD4615 set.

Thank you for sharing. That was a great thread. It also has me wondering about the fake primary filter pleats being closer together if that’s what hat was making my lift pump whine after 5k miles. That happened twice using my oil change place and started using MC filters and now I go 15k miles between filter changes.
Yes, we’re having to be very careful where we buy. I currently get all spares and consumables through Rockauto. I have had counterfeit items from Amazon, including a front wheel bearing for the mini that lasted 20k miles. That would have spoiled my day if it had let go at speed (and I don’t drive slowly).

Everything I have read says Purolator makes Motorcraft fuel filters they are also less than half the price. That’s retail. What’s a good online vendor that sells true Purolator fuel filters?

No problem... I had bought legit MC sets before from Amazon prior but once that happened, I'm done with ordering them from there... I still have 2 sets left from dieselfiltersonline so when I buy more at one point, I'll let the forum know from where... Rock Auto is an option...

F76160 Purolator Ford part number.
I have heard purolator makes Ford's oil filters but not the fuel filters. That vendor to the best of my knowledge is unknown, I am leery of Purolator fuel filters since when I had a 04.5 Dodge, the OEM fuel filter spec was 7 microns (which was too high but that is another matter).... the purolator was rated at 25 microns.... yikes. Ford's OEM fuel filters have a pretty good reputation, given the costs of the fuel system I would run them IMHO. A nice 1-14 post spin on filter head would really simplify things but most kits for the 6.7 are cost prohibitive.
