I hope I'm wrong but it sounds more expensive than an exhaust leak. What's the background on the Coyote purchase? Mine threw the mass air code at first until I had the entire intake and aircleaner assembled with the MAF in the correct location. Have you any updates to your situation?
After a lot of troubleshooting we found the exhaust leak so it is sorted.
Now it is only a rough idle we are working on. 2500-4000rpm no worries but idle is very rough and it dies if you leave the throttle.
It will until you have the intake inlet tube configured, lemme guess fire it up and RPM's are way up there for a couple of secs, then it comes back down then dies?
Configured meaning longer tube with the air filter installed. Once I had my MAF located correctly it ran perfect. I had to move it further upstream and to the other side of the intake tube at the advice of the Ford Tech at Ford performance. I used their control pack. His thought with my first set up was the MAF was to close too the throttle body.
I would think your current configuration would be more than adequate. Is the MAF sensor new? Do you have a tuner in your area? They can most likely correct your issue. Where did you get your Coyote from?
We rotated the tube a little bit so the sensor got a little bit further away and it seemed to help. Ran a bit better but still rough. Not sure if it gets the correct 55psi fuel pressure so trying to future out how to set the edelbrock regulator on exactly 55.
A good tune probably Will do wonders as well, did you do Lund racing?
nice swap btw and thanks for all the help.
As far as fuel pressure needing to be right at 55 mine was always at 58psi. I used the Corvette C5 filter regulator combination and it automatically regulates at 58 PSI.
With the Ford Racing control pack you don't need a tune, it's Plug and Play, it also came with a preloaded tune which gave it a small bump in horsepower. I never had to do anything but connect the five wires and it ran perfect, after I adjusted the MAF location.
