My Kid put a set of Headman headers on his 94 F350 on a fresh 460 rebuild. They have the EGR hookup, that is being used. He has no cat and is running flowmasters. We set the timing at 12’ btdc. Motor seems to be running rich and runs a bit rough at 50mph but cleans out after hittin 60mph.
Is there any tuning that needs to be done since he put headers on and has no cat? Only code that comes up is low voltage on egr.
Well, fix that EGR code
The EVP sensor, replace it and use the correct color
When the processor sees low EGR flow as reported by the EVP, it shuts the timing down like a sort of limp mode
You can put a smaller washer (orifice) in your EGR valve
Make sure your O2 is working, and where did you put it, you can plug the EGR hole on header, and put thin plate on EGR on engine, keep the electrical plug plugged in, and vacuum to it hooked up, PCM/ECM, will not know the difference

O2 is working. The Y pipe for the headers had the bung for it.
I wonder if the O2 sensor is too far back. They are often right at, or just after the collector on the manifold. Check where the stock position was compared to now. It significantly different, research that more and consider adding a bung to move it forward.
