The fuel mileage has dropped on my 2016 Powerstroke but it has also been throwing and occasional P20002 code. It has about 140K miles on it. I removed the camper today and took it on a 35 mile drive through the hills of SW Colorado. Mileage was 16.1, which is OK but not what it once was. I usually only use Motorcraft filters but the last time I had the truck serviced it was done while on the road. I bought oil filter and oil from Walmart and took it to a quick lube place. I let them put an STP air filter in it.
Today after the mileage test I check the filter indicator and it was in the red, so I pulled the filter with some difficulty because the filter was bent and jammed into the intake side. I checked the air box and it is completely clear so the filter should not have been pulling a vacuum but something sure pulled that filter into the top part of the air box. Any ideas on what could possibly cause this other than improper installation?
