I am looking at a new distributor for my 88 f150 5.0 I have two choices on the drive gear cast iron or steel. the dist is 40 miles away also the shaft to drive the oil pump is it just that or is there a sleeve? I got all my new spark plugs in except one the threads are buggered on the plug. i chased the plug holes on the head and all the rest went right in, no anti-seize needed. i am trying to get as much done as possible before the snow flies.
The roller blocks need the steel gear (your 88 should have a cast gear) Maybe pull your distributor and see which one you have in case the engine has been replaced?
The oil pump drive has no sleeve
Just the bottom of the distributor hollow shaft portion (if you consider that a sleeve)
