towing with V10

Hello all.......... wondering if anyone can give me some advice... I've got an 01 X V10 and am going to have to tow a van from northeast PA to Lexington, KY. I've towed before but this will be the first time with the new X. I'm going to be towing a full size cargo van on either a dolly or a trailer. I'd greatly appreciate any tips anyone can offer so i don't overwork the X. Should i tow with the overdrive off? I did read somewhere on here where someone said to keep it off but they were answering a post to a gentleman with a 5.4. Again.. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have a good day and weekend all.

I tow an 8500 pound boat 450 miles every weekend with the X. No problem. Hills ect. depending on the grade I have overdrive off when I anm not at freeway speeds. My only caution for you is the braking. take longer to stop because you will warp the rotors. The tranny is fine. I have 40k miles on my X over 50% of them towing from california to las Vegas or Lake Havasu AZ. The temperature does not change at all.
