sure is shiny, someone put a ceramic coating on the finish?
i had it detailed, and yea they used ceramic at the end. Aside from chips, the painted portion of the front bumper losing its clear is the only blemish on exterior. Very clean, I literally looked for years for rust free specimen
looking bad ***! i got my ex 10 years ago from original owner. didnt need it but always had Big broncos and the excursion is basically a centurion bronco without the removable cap. 4x4 with v10 things are beefy !! you got a nice looking truck that will last a lifetime. congrats

Thanks. It's my family wagon and couldn't be happier with it. Just gonna park it when the salt hits the roads
This is my H.A.V.O.C. still in progress but gettin’ there. Welcome to the group.
I too like the bed liner on the lower portion of the Excursion look. A roof rack is on the list of future projects, was planning on building one (home built both the front and rear bumpers), but your roof rack looks pretty sweet, care to share the brand and where you got it?
it’s from AVATAR and they custom made it for me. They don’t have them “off the shelf”. It was $$$ but worth every penny. I don’t have the ability to build my own stuff or else I would. I love that you made your front and back. My front is Ranch Hand and the back is Aluminess.

After checking out avataroffroad.com , I can certainly believe the "$$$" thing. While they don't list the Excursion at all, just looking around their site it would seem as though they are a premium brand, and charge premium prices. Very cool, and thanks for the info, but I doubt I will be giving them any business. Guess it's back to welding supply store for me.

Good looking excursions! I probably won't get into doing much to this one, at least not in the immediate future, but may work on a roof rack of some sort. If it wasn't already setup the way I want it mechanically, that'd be a different story, but I absolutely love it and am glad I found an excursion before I found a 6.5 suburban. If a grandpa owned 6.5 sub came my way in the last 10 years (literally, that's how long I've been looking), I would have bought it and had a slug for the next 15 years. About 3 years ago, I extended my search to excursions and I could not be happier.

What mpg are you getting with your cummins? One thing that I'm not happy with is the mpg. I expected 15 or so, but I get 13-14 with a few minutes of idle time every time I fire it up.

Fuel economy is not really any different between the Cummins 12 valve that’s in it now and the 6.0 PSD that was taken out.
Physics kinda demands that X amount of energy be used to move Y amount of mass. The only thing that would make one engine get better fuel economy than another in the same vehicle is how efficient that engine is. There really isn’t a drastic difference in engine efficiency between them. If you want more MPG, changing your driving habits is usually the best way.
