I currently have a POS northen tool low profile tool box. I am looking to get a much better one. I was talking to a guy and he said Camlocker. Looked them up but they want 250+ shipping, so 1100.00 total. How is UWS as they are available in stores ?
We equip all our work trucks with UWS tool boxes and love them. You can go to their website and search nearest retail store to purchase from or order online.
When I did a stint working at a trailer place, I had a guy that wanted me to carry Montezuma Boxes. Had one on a pre-equipped truck and brought it by for me to look at.
They seemed to be very rugged built, and had really good tool organization in the triangle box.
we sold a bunch of RKI, UWS and Buyer’s boxes. RKI were always Skookum, just heavy and I hated their sales rep and system. Generally just took the hit and bought from a 3rd party.

UWS is great, i had one for years in my f150. Dual foam insulation lod, you can stand on and won't bend. Pretty bullet proof, and hard to break in as it doesn't flex. I would go UWS.

Yea I think I am and there is store not far but closed on Sundays
I am using a ranchhand low profile tool box That darn thing is strong.
It is also pretty darn secure locking it up. this last year I locked my truck keys in the box and had to use bolt cutters. Was difficult and took alot of time to get it just right to get the bolt cutters on it.
Folks that steal would move on after a few minutes of attempting .
this is a pick on my 2013. It now is being used on my 2021.
I picked up a black Weatherguard Defender series at Lowes. I have had it just over two years now and it is starting to fail. First the cross box linkage got fouled up, broke some plastic clips that are hard to source. I fixed that and a couple weeks later one of the release buttons has failed internally and will need replacement. I would rate the quality of the box as just OK, better than some but far from perfect or durable in my use.
Weatherguard but not the defender if you use the box daily .. W.W.Granger keeps them all in stock so you can inspect for any shipping damage before you purchase.
But if a replacement piece cant be had locally Weatherguard can always send a replacement piece.
I could not find the rod clips I needed. The want to sell you the whole linkage for over $100 to get 50 cents worth of clips... I fixed it with an invented solution....lol
I am pretty sure I can source the release button itself. Just disappointing to have bought a more premium box and had this trouble after just a couple of years.
