Hi, everyone! Tried to search this before posting a new thread so if this has already been talked about, please forgive!
Our 2016 Expo with 105k miles has been making a burning smell lately. It's only intermittent and I finally notice it the other day. My wife primarily drives this vehicle and has mentioned it a few times but I haven't noticed it until this past weekend. It smells like something is literally burning or smoldering. You can smell it inside the vehicle and outside of it, too. Anyone come across anything like that?
The beginning of this year, we had valve cover gaskets and seals replaced. They misaligned spark plug tube seal which allowed oil into spark plug tube which submerged the plug and ignition coil boot. The burning smell was noticeable inside and outside the vehicle. The smell was more noticeable the harder the vehicle was driven. Consider removing your ignition coils to see if there is oil in your spark plug tubes.
