Hello from MT
Polished the new Thunder Bird for it's world debut, (working with the guy who polishes everything).
Please bare with me, I'm high functioning with a proven track record.
I may be new here... not stoopid and not new.
Rebuilding transmissions for the first time and my plan is to rebuild and measure, relentlessly, while installing high quality large hard parts from reliable vendors.
I'm disabled and any good used tools or known good suppliers, willing to provide me with a modicum of respect and assistance, will find me loyal and competent.
125 miles from a quality machine shop. Most of our mechanics, this far out rebuild nothing and change out engines and transmissions, as whole systems replacements, every day, day after day.
Nothing is rebuilt locally.
My goal, is to respecfully, use quality hard parts and machined parts and start a re-assembly business where none such thing exists, using similar strategy, on a macro scale.
Large quality transmission systems, re-assembled locally for a modest profit and local re-service, when required, with full factory support from regional or nationwide vendors, willing to back up the parts they send me when they are found to be defective. No B/S.
Hope you'll forget about the GM vs Ford thing, I worked for both corporations as a rigger/head carpenter for nearly 2 decades.
Same Global Productions Corp, same marketing and publicity team from London, same hotel, same entertainment teams, no B/S.
Every year...
The Ford Model A club starts the 500 mile Montana road trip, every year, from my small town in Montana.
Been lucky enough to meet some really great guys and photograph some very exclusive cars.
Let's keep it real and I'll probably fit in, OK?
