I have a 2014 F150 Supercrew XLT 5.0 4x4 157wb 3.55 LSD. I think I want OEM Motorcraft strut assemblies for replacement. I use Motorcraft as often as possible for repairs. Many aftermarket companies leave 2014 out of the discussion. Having the same style lower front shock mount as later years, I would like to use takeoffs from a later model. I am currently looking at some from a 2023 model F150. I considered Bilstein, but I want a loaded strut. I also do not want to change height. (Rear shocks to be changed, too.) Does anyone have any experience with this idea? My VIN tag has VVAA for springs.

You would be a lot better off posting this in either the, Newer Light Duty Trucks forum or the Miscellaneous forum. Both will give you faster, more related responses than here.

. . . however, I will point out: Your truck has a steel body. The F-150 started being aluminum bodied in the 2015 model year. If you want to keep the same height, going to struts that are designed for a lighter pickup probably wouldn't be a good solution.
I agree about this not being in the best place. It was a mistake. It has been awhile since I've posted. I did move it. However, what is your reasoning for not using a 2015-23
coil-on-shock? A heavier truck would give a softer ride. It is very harsh now. I don't see how it could be worse.

No worries. I'm not the post police, I just like to help folks get to the good advice.

They're different part numbers. I'm not sure what is different between one and the other. If it fits, it might give a softer ride . . . or it might be just as firm. If it gives a softer ride, this might come with a lower stance and might create alignment issues, or might not. I've personally never heard of anyone doing this, but would love to know how an effort like this turns out.
