Ok, posted this in the Expedition form, never seems to be a lot of action there, so I'm posting it here also for input/advice from the crowd I know and love I have adapters on my '02 F350 on the rear, when I got it it had 315/75/16's on it so it needed them to space out the duals, I've downsized to 285's, still have them on because they are a little wide, may take them off and see if they rub at some point, so that is all the experience I have with them.
Looking for input if anyone has used either or... I have my 98 Expy 4x4, I really don't care for the factory steel rims, not a fan of the directional look, so I ordered new Black Rock 942 Type D Matte black rims in 16x7, annnd... they rub on the calipers.
Debating on ordering the hub-centric 1/2" spacers, OR hub-centric 1" wheel adapters so I can get tires mounted and on the road, tires are 265/75/16 Toyo AT3
Not sure which is the best way to go, I need one or the other, or if anyone has wheel recommendations I'm open to that also, just doesn't seem to be a lot of choices in the 5x135 that aren't expensive, this is a budget rig as a secondary family truck.

I've used spacers, long ago, but when doing so I also used longer studs so I maintained full thread engagement. Moroso used to make sell / offer a bunch of sizes. I have gone to the point of having to drill or slightly enlarge holes to fit the shoulder knurling ... using a long tapered hand reamer. Never had a negative issue once complete.
I've used the bolt on spacers on 2 separate Jeeps that I've had & never had any problems. They were probably 1.25" enough to cover the studs & not touch in back face of the wheels. I used loctite & my torque wrench, absolutely 0 issues & those rigs saw offroad use, but I also know alot of ppl out there (internet land) curse the existence of such adapters...
Thanks gents, appreciate the input, I went ahead and ordered the 1.5" ones as 1.25" was a bit shy of covering the studs, I'll lock-tite the studs and check them after about 50 miles, then maybe 500 just for piece of mind.
My dad has spacers on the front of his 2022 F150 to compensate for the lift moving the tires in. He daily drives it and has been perfectly fine for the 30k miles he’s had them
