Heater blower stopped working

Hi
First off let me say thank you for all the help along the way. I have a 1985 F350 with a fuel efficient 460, lol. Yesterday my blower on my heater was working and now it ain’t. Any ideas on where to start? For info I replaced all the heater parts last year and it’s been working great…until today.
thank you
Larry

Check it, see if it will work on the highest speed only.

Factory AC? Or heater only? Wiring diagrams here, either page 144 or 146 depending which version you have.

Check fuse #9. After that, check if the fan works on high speed, as Dave suggested. If so, the resistor pack has failed.

Also play with the key. Wiggle it back and forth. Turn the key to Run (but not Start) and see if the fan runs. As the ignition switch gets old, it doesn't always return properly to Run after engine start. More details here:

FWIW, years ago, my blower would only blow on the high setting. I put a resistor from, I think it was a late 1970's Jeep. It was only a few dollars, as the only one ford had was for trucks with AC and was $26.00. The duct tape has worker great to hold it in place.

So the resistor could be bad and that would allow it to work on high only?

Yes, that's what mine was doing, only blowing on high. The cheap common resistor works great. I asked google, blower motor resistor, I think that's what I did.

On high speed the resistor is bypassed in the circuit. If it will not run on high, you have other problems.

I think when you have AC the fan is different than non AC. For me I'm non AC and the fan stopped working on all speeds. I was able to get a replacement from a parts store that specialized in electric equipment. It was OEM spec, so un plug the old fan, remove replace plug was the same so plug n play.

Yes, one size seems to fit all in this case, without AC. I was told that from a friend who runs the motor pool in the local National guard base. So I just went out and found that Jeep one. I want to say it was like $7.00 or maybe 9.00 back then. The mount holes were a bit different so I just duct taped mine in.

Okay I went out to my truck and did every single suggestion…nothing worked. With the truck running I decided to pop the hood and check a few things. The second I popped the hood the blower started working…the entire switch now works. 😵‍💫🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🤣

Well I see 1 of 2 things
1- brushes bad / sticking in the motor and popping the hood jogged them.
2- body ground is in question. Battery to motor. Motor to frame. Motor to firewall.
