2005 axle dust shield
is the new axle dust shield metallic the one that replaced the ruber seal that goes on the axle shaft ? today I remove the axle shaft and there is not seal in the axle tube , only the broken rubber one on the shat nest to the ujoint....is that right? thanks

It's metal with rubber in the middle where the axle shaft goes through. I bought some for my 03 because rockauto said they would work but they're only for the coil spring axle assembly. Big improvement over the rubber donut, which like the stock 6.0 transmission filter, is only good for keeping out rocks.
