A actual 4" muffler
This is a absolute pressure FEA displaying the distinct difference between the chambers but you'll see that the key shows very little change, this is good because it means we wont have a large back pressure buildup.
This is a fixed volume frequency model, IE a engine running at a fixed rpm outputting its exhaust pulse frequency.
The construction of the interal baffles and tubing is all mild steel.
The outer tube and the caps are both 304 stainless (I live in the rust belt)
Im posting this in the general diesel because its just a 4" muffler that could be thrown on anything, also it's cool. So tomorrow ill finish welding up the outside and flare the ends so i can toss it on the truck, ill do a before and after decible reading in and out of the cab and post the results.
The overall dimensions are 33" with a 24"x9" body tube
all in this muffler has cost me $200... if we don't include the shop beers with friends
